Dear Friends:
Id like to take this opportunity to request your help. I am losing a
battle with Cystic Fibrosis and need a double lung transplant desperately.
The only way I can survive to be there for my children is to have this very
expensive risky operation.
As some of you may know, Cystic Fibrosis is the leading genetic killer of
children. With the help of the Lord, I have beat the odds so far and am
hoping to watch and guide my family. Recent advances in medicine have made it
possible for those afflicted by the horrible disease to lengthen their life by
getting new lungs. This operation costs over $250,000.00 and I am asking for
help so we may raise the necessary money. A friend of mine has helped with
this cause by developing my web page and the fund raising effort that he and
many others volunteered to do for this very special cause. The web page
address is http://home.texoma.net/~jlh1/donor.html. Id also like to tell you
how much I appreciate you reading his page and perhaps understanding more
about this dreaded disease. It not only affects the afflicted person but
also takes it toll on those very special folks who care for them.
Once again, I am asking for your help and assistance with our new fund raising
effort in my hometown of Denison, TX., (70 North of Dallas). Volunteers are
organizing an auction/dinner, set for November 8, 1998. We need items that
can be auctioned during that weekend. Our goal is to raise $30,000 from this
event to go toward my lung transplant. Monies received will be put
in a special account to be used for medical expenses. Copies of all medical
and related receipts shall be made open to the public, available to you
upon request.
The Denison/Sherman, Texas area is well known for its country music fans and
any item(s) pertaining to this would be greatly appreciated. In fact, any
item small or large that could be auctioned would be helpful in our campaign.
Remember, even small items make a difference.
Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. I certainly
appreciate your time and consideration of sending auctionable items for this
event. Right now, I cant do too much to help other folks but after my
surgery and convalescence/rehabilitation, I shall devote my life for helping
others who are ill and/or in need of medical treatment.
Please do not hesitate to write or call if you have any questions at all about
this event or anything you need to know about Cystic Fibrosis.
We stand ready and are willing to help in anyway we can.
